OUR PRODUCT
With a history spanning 1,200 years, 扇 - OG (folding fans) have beautifully merged culture and aesthetics, seamlessly blending with modern fashion to infuse vibrant hues and coolness into daily life.
Our product is crafted by skilled artisans running a fan shop in Kyoto since the Kyoho 3rd year (1718).
For the surface, we use Japanese paper from Kyoto, while the fan framework is crafted from bamboo sourced from Kyoto, Shiga's Adogawa, and Shin-Asahi towns.
Our products are proudly made in Kyoto, utilizing carefully selected domestic materials.

Our product, Kyo Folding Fans (京扇子), holds the esteemed designation of "a traditional craft" bestowed by the Minister of International Trade and Industry (now the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry) on May 25, 1974, under the Law for the Promotion of Japanese Traditional Craft Industries (伝統的工芸品振興法).
To be recognized as a "Traditional Craft Product" under this law, certain key requirements must be met:
- The article must primarily serve practical purposes in everyday life
- The main manufacturing process of the article must be carried out by skilled artisans by hand
- Traditional techniques must be employed in the article's production
- The main materials used in the article must be traditional ones
- The production of the article must be concentrated in a specific region
Currently, there are 240 traditional crafts throughout Japan, including renowned items like Nishijin fabric, Kyō ware and Kiyomizu ware.
